DescriptionSnow-capped mountains, roaring rivers, azure blue lakes laced with magnificent lush forests and tundra – this is the image of the Altai Republic where The Altaiskiy State Nature Reserve is located. This Reserve is listed as one of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Sites. There are unique apple gardens on the territory of the The Altaiskiy State Nature Reserve. These gardens contain valuable collection of different apple and pear trees and appear to be heritage of the Soviet time. Recently the crop is reducing and the garden is being sustained only by a few activists. Don't miss this chance to enjoy breathtaking nature and do something really meaningfull!
Work And Activities
Volunteers will implement the following tasks:
- cleaning the lakeside of the Lake Teletskoye from garbage
- sustaining the apple and pear gardens
- creating an open-air museum(botanical garden)
- manual work
- creating an art-gallery
- apple drying and jam cooking (The jam produced by the volunteers will be donated to the local orphanage.)
Volunteers are expected to work for 4-8 hours.
Accommodation And FoodVolunteers will stay in a wooden shelter. Foam mats, sleeping bags will be provided. Showers will be taken in a traditional Russian banya. The volunteers will be responsible for cutting woods, and cooking food on a campfire. Necessary kitchen equipment will be provided.
RequirementsMotivation to work on environmental project. Participants should be also ready to work manually and stay in pretty basic conditions. Alcohol is prohibited in the camp. Volunteers will make an agreement with the the natural reserve.
ADDITIONAL MOTIVATION LETTER IS REQUIRED
Volunteers will have a tour and will be able to see a few waterfalls and some other spectacular natural sights.
