This project is organized in partnership with the Service 3D from Vannes that works with youngsters facing social and/or economic difficulties. Local youngsters and 3D service leaders will be part of the workcamp group. During the workcamp, you will support the Saumon Festival volunteers organising the event. This festival takes place in Pont-Scorff (Morbihan – South of Britany) on July the 7, 8 and 9. Like the other years, there will be lots of playful activities about fishing, ecology... and plenty of concerts! The festival is free of charge to make it accessible to everyone. During leisure time volunteers will be able to discover Pont-Scorff's surroundings and to meet the locals.

Work And Activities

Participants will work on different tasks in order to meet the organisational team needs. Before the event, they will work on decoration, logistics, setting up the selective sorting. During the festival the tasks will be more about catering, animations… Finally, after the event volunteers will have to help clean up the site.

Accommodation And Food

Volunteers will sleep under two person tents (bring your sleeping bag and mattress), the collective life will take place under a big tent or a room nearby. Participants will share the chores, including cooking and shopping, with the budget allocated by the camp leaders, giving priority to local and healthy products.

Pont-Scorff (2632 inhabitants) is a village in Morbihan close to Lorient and the Britany’s coasts. This town welcomes lots of artists and craftsmen, owns magnificent heritage and cultural places and also a zoological park. You will have many opportunities for leisure around Pont-Scorff: hiking, climbing, canoe-kayak and mountain bike.

Whatever the season in Brittany, you have to bring warm clothes (trousers, sweater; socks, closed shoes, rain clothes) and light ones (skirt or shorts, t-shirt, open shoes). We say here that all four seasons can take place during a day! Please also take with you working clothes, gloves and shoes in addition to your best swimsuit. Bring a warm sleeping bag and an insulated camping mat as nights are sometimes fresh and wet. Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
Alcohol consumption will be strictly prohibited in this workcamp due to French legislation for camps hosting volunteers under 18.
