The aim of the association “Guidon dans la tête"(a nonprofit association) is to encourage the usage of cycles in town, by offering workshops to teach cyclists how to fix a bicycle on their own. It’s a convivial place where volunteers and cyclists can learn the maintenance and the restoration of bicycles. In addition, a recycling circuit was created: old cycles, or the main pieces if the bicycle is in a very bad condition, are recovered, repaired, refurbished and re-used. Finally, the association creates cycle’s accessories to make them more handy and playful. It’s also a place of exchanges and debates about bicycles. For more infos:

Work And Activities

The aim of this workcamp is to help the association to organise the recycling bicycle’s workshop. Tasks consist on transportation of cycles to the workshop; disassemble the bike in order to collect the pieces that can be re-used, classified them and then reassemble the bicycle…You don’t need to know how to do it, you will learn it!

Accommodation And Food

Each volunteer will be hosted in the flat of an association’s member. This is an excellent way to discover the French’s lifestyle. During the day, the daily activities are guaranteed by volunteers (shopping, preparation of meals, housework) in a shared kitchen inside the association.

Clermont Ferrand is the capital of Auvergne’s region, situated at the bottom of the Puy de Dôme, a beatiful green volcano (don't worry, it's not active). The town of Clermont Ferrand offers lots of cultural, sportive, architectural and gastronomic interesting places. The region is perfect for hiking, by foot or by bicycle, or for canoeing in the rivers or swimming in the lakes, according to what the campleaders can propose you. Your campleaders will prepare games and activities but you will be invited to propose and create your own activities. Be creative ! Bring games, music, recipes or typical ingredients from your region or country to share with the rest of the group! For the working part bring adapted clothes. The rest of the equipment will be provided.
