Moreover, you will be associated to the activities of the Youth Service (excursions, animations, tours) and will be able to enjoy the nearby beaches of the wonderful bay of the Somme. In other words, an intense workcamp!
Work And Activities
Between the towns of Yonval and Mareuil Caubert exists what is called in Picard dialect (from Picardie Region) a "larris", that is to say a dry and calcareous grasslands which hosts a very specific fauna. This site is labelled as a sensitive natural area. Your task will be to contribute to the care of this area by cutting trees and bushes and taking out the organic wastes. This work will valorise a hiking path and therefore enable its access for hikers.
Accommodation And FoodYou will sleep under tents and will have a common room for the daily life. You will share the different collective tasks and prepare meals together.
PlaceYonval is a small village of 240 inhabitants, located south of Abbevile in the Somme department, Hauts-de-France region, close to the beaches of the Channel.
RequirementsPlease note: volunteers will have to move around a lot, it is necessary to know how to ride a bike. Bring working clothes and boots. Tents will be provided but you have to take your sleeping bag and floor mat. You may bring regional/geographic specialties, pictures, music instrument: things you like and want to share with the group and the local community!
