Muyonjo Senior School – Naluvule is a well organized secondary school, started in 2007 by a group of devoted, experienced professional teachers.
The school aims at availing all inclusive and appropriate education to generate a productive and self reliant population.
The school also offers standard curriculum of all subjects, which are examinable by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UEB).
Currently, the school conducts a vocational subject in information technology. In future the school plans on starting other vocational subjects including carpentry and tailoring.
The school has an enrollment of 200 students between 13 -18 years of age. It is also an Ordinary and Advanced level School.
Muyonjo Senior is situated in a conductive study environment on Hoima Road at Naluvule in Wakiso District 8 kms from Kampala and 3kms form UPA Guest House. It has a teaching staff of 14 well trained, competent, devoted, experienced and motivated personnel. They are not affiliated to any particular religion thus all religions are respected.

Work And Activities

· Formal classroom teaching to students
· Care and assisting students in and outside classrooms
· Training children in computer, games and sports and music, dance and drama.

Volunteer task
· Work with the rest of the staff to provide the above to the students in this school

Accommodation And Food

Volunteers to this project shall stay at UPA guest house in Nansana or any other special arrangement as may be organized by the School administration




· Emotionally strong. The volunteer work on this school requires a person who has close feeling for students.
· Having skills in computer or information technology is an added advantage.
· Teach students in languages (French and Germany).
· Command of good communication in English


Communication with School staff and of the students is preferably in English

Comments from UPA The placement can be an opportunity to introduce a volunteer to Uganda’s education systems. It will also be an opportunity to promote ones culture through language teaching. One with skills in training students in sports e.g. foot and hand ball and other sports is one easy way to win lasting friendship.
Everything today is put together on computer therefore training students in Computer greatly helps them link with the outside world and empowers them to contribute to building a justified global village and assist Ugandans explore more potentials of using the Computer to enjoy a sustainable life.
All volunteers choosing school project should always remember to consider the school holidays when the schools are closed in April, August – September and December to Early February.
